Weekend update - 9th/10th April

Mark Norman's u18s side suffered a damaging 4-0 loss to Truro City who have now claimed runners up spot behind Champions Parkway. Villa will however secure 3rd place if they can claim all 3 points against Plymstock United in the PL9 derby on April 24th.

Jimmy and Bowds final home match before relinquishing their coaching duties saw them come out 3-2 winners against Chaddlewood. Harvey Scowcroft and Aaron Lockwood adding 2 more to his impressive Villa tally.

The u15s had a comfortable 9-0 win at St Cleer to ensure they suffered no title hiccups.  Riley Crawford bagging himself a hat-trick (23 goals now for him), Chapman 2, Holmes,  White 2 and Zarezadeh.

Our other u15s suffered a 3-1 home loss to Ivybridge. They battled gamely despite missing several key players through injury and illness. Shayea again on the scoresheet for Villa.

Our u13s youth remain in the hunt for a promotion spot despite playing up year. They responded to a midweek 3-1 home defeat (which all but sealed the title for Ivybridge), beating an improving Manstow side away from home 4-2. Charlie Martyn, Olie Lakey, an OG and Jordan Hyatt scoring Villas goals.

April 2nd - Mini Soccer Cup Finals

Villa's mini soccer teams enjoyed great success at Crowndale, Tavistock on April 2nd winning the u9s Champions Cup, u9s Super cup plate and u10s Super Cup. There were some amazing scenes at the final whistle with all games going close to the wire. Congratulations to all those involved and what a day to remember for the young players!

Our under 16s suffered an unwelcome 2-1 defeat to Manstow which upset their bid to challenge for the runners up spot in the u16 Howe division. Oshinyemi with Villas only goal.

The u15s played out a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw in a top of the table clash with Plymouth Parkway which keeps both teams in the hunt for the title. Freddie Chapman and Riley Crawford scoring Villas goals. Villa whilst having played a game more are level with the leaders and poised to take advantage of any slip up from Parkway. Map and Callington are also part of a 4-horse race for the title.

Stuart and Lewis' u15s has a fine 1-0 win away at Elm United, Mohammed Shayea scoring the games only goal.

Duncan Duthie's Villa 13s team saw their slim hopes of making a bid for promotion dashed by improving Morley who ran out 6-2 winners, whilst the younger 13s continued their impressive season beating old nemesis Southgate 4-1 at Haye Road, Lucas Burch scoring 2, Preston Chitty and Olie Lakey completing the scoring.

15s make it two semi final wins in a week!

Elburton Villa u15s were celebrating again on Saturday as they won their league cup semi final to ensure they will now have two cup finals to look forward to as the season reaches its climax. Villa beat a spirited and very talented Marjons side 3-1 with goals from Crawford, Jakes and Jayden White.

The u18s beat bottom side Torpoint 4-2 keeping their very feint hopes of a runners-up spot alive. Goals from Carr, Sleeman and a brace from Cameron Norman securing a hard fought win.

Our u13s girls enjoyed a fine 2-0 win against Manstow in the Vivid Supplementary league with two fine goals from Darcie Bargewell & Martha Gregory.

Villa u12s dropped points for only the second time this season in an entertaining 1-1 draw with leaders Saltash to remain on course for the title. Marley Pedro on target for Villa.

Under 15s through to second consecutive County Cup Final!

Villa u15s have progressed to their second consecutive Devon County Cup final where they will have the opportunity to defend their trophy from last season against Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police Yth. They beat Central Yth City in a repeat of last seasons final in a tight & tense affair 2-1. Goals from Jude Holmes and Riley Crawford gave Villa the lead but an absolute crucial penalty save from Jack Bamford at 2-1 helped seal the victory for the Villa!

Unfortunately our u13s couldn't quite make it a Devon Cup double as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Stoke Hill Juniors. However this team can take great pride in their cup run and will surely be looking to improve upon this next season.

Our u16s inflicted Keyham Kolts 1st defeat of the season with a comprehensive 6-1 win on Saturday to move into second position in the table. Having played two more games and being 7 points behind leaders Chaddlewood, who are also 9 wins from 9, it seems a late charge for the league table will be just out of reach this season but runners up is still all to play for. Aaron Lockwood notched his 300th goal for Elburton Villa which is a fantastic achievement!

Baggys u15s beat SB Frankfort 5-0 to keep themselves in contention at the top. A clinical hat-trick from Sam Travers and goals from Riley Crawford and Aaron Barrett gave Villa a comfortable victory at home.

Our u13s girls drew 2-2 with SB to record a third successive draw with Saturdays opponents!

The u12s remain 6 points behind the leaders with 5 games in hand in the Warspite division. They triumphed 4-0 against Callington Colts with Cohen Egan also scoring a villa hat-trick and Jimi Dawson pitching in with the other.

Elsewhere our u10s played their long awaited league cup semi final against opponents Southgate Colts in very windy conditions but on an immaculate Haye Road pitch. They adapted to the windy conditions quickly and scored some good goals with excellent team play in and out of possession. The whole team worked hard and defended brilliantly and it was definitely a game of two halves with the wind!
